Many software developers dream of being “on their own.” Sometimes they want to “do their own thing” and develop their own product. Some want to freelance and be able to develop but not be the boss or deal with customer support.
How to be a Freelance Software Developer
There are many pitfalls and surprises to being solo. In my book “How to be a Freelance Software Developer” I share many of my insights, stories, knowledge and wisdom gained from being a freelance software developer sine 2008.
The market changes and you have to change with it. Technology changes too and we have to stay current. There’s a lot going on and a lot to manage. When you’re solo, it’s all up to you. So dealing with clients, invoicing, sales, accounting on top of what we really want to do (code) can often be too much.
You don’t have to go it alone. I’ve learned a lot from my experience and honestly want to share it with you. It’s actually in my best interest you stay solo because people and relationships really make the difference.
I hope you find my insight helpful and would love to hear your thoughts!
